A Passion For Pets
There’s a fellow named Jim Wentzell who trains dogs and can work out some behavioral issues, remedial brush up training, etc. He and his wife have been working with pets for like, EVER – – her name’s Marcia.
I met Jim when he brought me a Sheltie about 15 years ago to put to sleep. He had tears. I asked him how long he had the dog and he said “It’s not my dog, it belongs to a customer.”
I’m thinking “Whaaaaaaaaat? This guy is shedding tears about SOMEBODY ELSE’S dog, and they’re not crocodile tears because he has no reason to put on a show of it. He must be genuine!”
And he is. I’d say Marcia and Jim are pretty much crazy. Pet-crazy. I mean that in the most affectionate way because like, He’s this tall, earnest, fast-talking (obviously undiagnosed A.D.D) with all sorts of ideas rattling around in his head about better ways to do this, or that for the pets. And she’s this cute, funny, little Jewish lady with happy, colorful clothes and a winning smile.
So for the last many years they’ve been a “go to” for boarding of pets that need a little extra care, in the Sandy Plains area up around East Piedmont / Sprayberry. They’ll take old dogs, and dogs that don’t wanna be in play care. But they also run a play care boarding and day care situation as well. I think they’re a good fit for most people and pets.
